Black Diamond Venom
This is the new 2017 version of the Venom Ice Axe featuring a fully interchangeable pick, sliding FlickLock® pommel (adjustable grip-rest), and an ergonomically shaped, angled shaft. The Black Diamond Venom is the ultimate hybrid axe for technical couloirs and rugged alpine terrain. If you are looking for something occupying the middle-ground between a classic piolet and a technical ice axe, then the Venom would be an informed choice.
The curved upper shaft provides added clearance during technical ice and snow sections, while the traditional spike makes for smooth plunging on the uphill. The dual-density grip and grip-rest pommel increase security when things get dicey.
The Black Diamond Venom is available with either a hammer or adze attachment. The hammer is available in 50 or 57cm variants, while we stock the adze in 57 or 64cm. Please don't try to select a 64cm hammer with the drop-down boxes because no such version exists!
